I recently discovered photographer Phillip Toledano’s project entitled “Days with My Father.”
It is a hauntingly lovely journal of his last days with his aging father that will bring tears to your eyes. Or at least that’s what happened to me.
About a year ago, I lost my grandfather, with whom I was very close, in a similar manner. These images, of course, brought up lots of forgotten feelings about the pain of literally watching someone die a slow death. That’s not to discourage you from clicking through the journal; to the contrary, please go through it and experience the humanity. You will not be the same after.
